The mission of the Kosovo Pedagogical Institute is: To provide professional services to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and educational institutions of all levels in Kosovo, through research, training, consulting, monitoring and evaluation, as well as professional publications in various fields of education. Also, the main task of the PIK is to research, analyze and compare educational achievements in Kosovo with other countries. To conduct research according to the tasks of the sectors in the areas of curriculum, educational standards, textbooks, evaluation, training of teachers and leaders of educational institutions. To provide training in the areas of curriculum, educational standards, textbooks, assessment, training of teachers and heads of educational institutions, to provide support to MEST and Municipal Directorates of Education in the development of educational policies and reforms in the field of education, to prepare, present and publish the results of research conducted, special publications, didactic material and manuals for teachers and heads of educational institutions.
