The Kosovo Pedagogical Institute (KPI) is organising the international scientific conference “Professional development of teachers in career: practices, challenges and opportunities”, which will be held on 14 November 2026.
Teachers’ professional development is considered one of the most important factors in improving the quality of education and advancing contemporary teaching and learning practices. In an educational context characterised by rapid social, technological and pedagogical changes, teachers face the need to continuously develop their professional competencies, reflect on their practices and adapt to the contemporary requirements of the education system and society.
The purpose of the conference is to create an academic and professional platform for researchers, teachers, heads of educational institutions and policymakers to discuss and exchange experiences, practices and research findings related to teachers’ professional development throughout their careers.
Through scientific presentations, discussions and the exchange of good practices, the conference aims to contribute to advancing theoretical and practical knowledge on teachers’ professional development, as well as to promoting policies and strategies that support the sustainable development of the teaching profession and the improvement of student outcomes.
On this occasion, we invite researchers and professionals in the field of education to contribute with papers in the following thematic areas:
SUB-TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION:
SUBMISSION OF SCIENTIFIC PAPERS
Researchers and practitioners in the field are invited to submit scientific papers that contribute to addressing the challenges and opportunities related to education policies, pedagogical leadership, teachers’ professional well-being, digital transformation, and the impact of professional development on improving the quality of learning.
PRESENTATION FORMAT:
You may prepare and submit your presentation in one of the following formats:
- Parallel session presentation – short presentations, 15–20 minutes, of scientific research.
- Panel presentation and discussion – related to one of the conference sub-themes with professionals in the field.
- Poster presentation – presentations of various studies, case studies, and experiences from different professionals.

CRITERIA AND WRITING STYLE FOR PAPERS
Abstract:
- Should contain 200 to 250 words;
- Font: Times New Roman 12, while the title in Times New Roman 14;
- Title of the paper: The title should represent the content of the paper. It should contain no more than 12 words;
- Specific conference theme: (indicate one of the conference themes);
- Author information: the author’s first name and surname, the name of the institution where the author works, as well as the e-mail address;
- The abstract should contain a brief introduction to the topic, the purpose, the main method used, the findings or implications, and the expected main conclusions;
- The abstract should contain up to five (5) keywords;
- Writing style: APA, 7th edition.
After evaluation, they will be accepted or rejected. Following the positive evaluation of the abstracts and approval by the Conference Scientific Council, the authors will be invited to submit the full paper for presentation at the conference and publication in the Conference Proceedings Book.
PUBLICATION OF PAPERS
Full papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings Book. Papers that will be considered for publication must meet the following criteria:
- They should comply with APA style (structure, references, writing style);
- The author’s first name and surname, and the name of the institution where the author works;
- Font: Times New Roman 12, while the title in Times New Roman 14;
- The first name and surname of at least two reviewers of the paper;
- They should include the abstract in accordance with the criteria given above;
- They should contain: an introduction to the topic and the purpose, a literature review, the methodology used, the findings and their analysis, the discussion and implications, the conclusions and recommendations;
- Papers should contain 2500 to 2700 words.

All accepted abstracts and papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings Book.
